July 31, Aug. 1& 2, we will car camp and hike to Pistol Lake on Sat. and hike to Buckhorn Hot Springs on Sun. These two hikes are class "A" hikes. Pistol Lake is about 8 miles round trip and 1200 ft. elev. gain. Buckhorn Hot Springs is about 6 miles round trip and 800 ft. elev. gain. These two hikes are in the Warm Lake area, about 20 miles to the north.These two hikes are exploratory as I have never been there. Promise you will not get lost. Pistol maybe good fishing, not sure. Buckhorn Hot Springs is a primitive hot springs. The distance from Boise is about 125 miles one way. I will have dog with me , Dogs are welcome.
