Idaho Fish and Game needs volunteers to help collect Bitterbrush seed in the Boise Foothills! We collect seed each year to have a small supply on hand in order to propagate seedlings and if there is a large fire or suitable area, the seed can be drill-seeded. The great thing about this project is that we have local seed to grow in to seedlings to put plants that are adapted to the Boise foothills back onto burned areas. (That sentence is kind of a mouthful!)
We intend to meet at the Garden City Volunteer Center- 109 W. 44th, 83714...6am,back in Boise by noon-ish to beat the heat. Bring water, sunscreen, hat and long pants recommended (may want to have long sleeve light shirt too!). |
