In light of all the difficulties with funding this year, it would be wonderful if we could all donate just one day in support of those departments who make Idaho's outdoors so great. There are other days available, but this day was chosen as a "club activity" since the majority of responders liked this day. Call me with questions (Mark, 424-6683), but call the below contact to sign up. Thanks so much. Details are:
Planting sites: Critical winter range for deer and elk that has burned in the last few years. We will plant the Spring Shores and Homestead Fires on the Boise River Wildlife Management Area east of Boise, Blacks Creek and potentially sites north of Emmett.
What to bring: DAY PACK to carry layered warm clothing, including: hat, rain gear, wind jacket, boots, work gloves, lunch and water. Please bring a garden trowel if you have one.
What to expect: We’ll be hiking up to the planting sites, so carry a day pack with all of your food, water, extra clothes and gloves. Much colder conditions than Boise - we’ll be in the mountains! Chilling wind, rain and even snow are all possible, especially wind.
Meet: MK Nature Center behind Fish and Game Headquarters at 600 S. Walnut Street in Boise.
Times: Might vary, but plans right now are to meet at 8 a.m. and return around 4 pm.
Transportation: Bus / vans provided.
