A Friends of the Owyhees Stewardship Project. Do your bit to help preserve and restore our precious desert canyons.
Succor Creek State Natural Area in eastern Oregon is a great park that all Owyhee recreational enjoy: from us locals, folks from Boise metro area, Oregonians from the west side, and others from afar. But with high-use comes garbage and invasive weeds.
FOTO and CascadiaNow! would like to invite any and all that recreate in Succor Creek to lend a hand cleaning up the roadways and removing patches of invasive weeds. Tools are being provided by Vale BLM, while garbage bags, extra water, and an after-work Luncheon are provided by FOTO.
We will meet at the campground at 8am for a short welcome and safety discussion, then disperse to field sites at 8:30. Please bring your own lunch, work gloves, sun protection, bug spray and plenty of water (at least 2 liters). The work day will commence by 3:30 and meet back in the campground for a Luncheon and Social to talk about "this place".
Also if you have a shovel you can throw in and plant snips please bring them.
