Scott Marchant has published several well-researched hiking guidebooks and is excited to announce the completion of his newest: The Hiker's Guide McCall & Cascade (2nd Edition). The 240-page guidebook showcases 65 of the greatest walking adventures in the mountains near McCall, New Meadows, Cascade and Stolle Meadows. In the 2nd edition of the guidebook you will find twenty-one new hikes, different options for hikes found in the 1st edition, improved USGS-based maps and color photography.
Scott's presentation will include a slideshow with some of the great scenery you will find. He will mainly focus on the new hikes added to the guidebook and will include fall hikes, hikes for wildflower viewing, view hikes and easy hikes. He will also discuss a few hikes you can access in the south section of the Seven Devils.
Scott will have books for purchase and will happily sign any of them for you.
IMR monthly meetings are a way to hear about topics of interest to Idaho outdoor enthusiasts. Starting in 2017, meetings are held on the 2nd Thursday of the month and are free and open to the public. (Of course, we shamelessly hope you like what you see and will join the club--but we also don’t pressure you!) We provide outing updates, announcements, and have a 45-minute presentation followed by discussion and/or social time so people have a chance to meet one another.
IMR's meetings are held in the Trophy Room at the Idaho Fish and Game Headquarters, 600 South Walnut, Boise, Idaho, from 7-9 pm. Park behind the building (on the east side). The Trophy Room entrance is near the northeast corner of the building. Meetings are from September through May. In June, July, and August we have potluck dinners in city parks.
