Ladakh (“The Land of High Places”) sits at the crossroads of Tibet, India, and Pakistan. It is a place rich in history, culture, and it offers the amateur mountaineer a number of accessible Himalayan peaks. Join IMR member Scott Arnold as he shares with you his experience of climbing one of those peaks, Stok Kangri. In his presentation you will enjoy a glimpse into the culture and history of the region along with some useful tips towards planning your first 6,000 meter climb.

Time and location: 7 pm at the Trophy Room at the Idaho Fish and Game Headquarters, 600 South Walnut, Boise, Idaho. Park behind the building (on the east side).

IMR monthly meetings are a way to hear about topics of interest to Idaho outdoor enthusiasts. Starting in 2017, meetings are held on the 2nd Thursday of the month and are free and open to the public. (Of course, we shamelessly hope you like what you see and will join the club--but we also don’t pressure you!) We provide outing updates, announcements, and have a 45-minute presentation followed by discussion and/or social time so people have a chance to meet one another.
