Middle Fork of the Boise River
River trip, Class II+
Saturday August 8
Join us for a float of the Middle Fork of the Boise River. We paddled this Class II+ section at higher flow about a month ago and it was a lot of fun. Expected flow is 500 cfs. Small craft (white water canoes, inflatable kayaks, white water kayaks) are appropriate for this 10-mile section of the river (from the North and Middle Fork Confluence to Willow Creek Campground). In addition to basic swift water skills (ferry, eddy turn, avoiding snags), participants need experience paddling waves, avoiding getting pushed into walls/house rocks, and dodging rocks and holes. The put-in is about a 2-hour drive from Boise and accessible to passenger cars. Limited to 12 paddlers. No dogs.
