Planning for one of the classic European hut journeys? Our speaker, IMR member Jim Pace, will use an example of his Haute Route trip last spring (Chamonix-Zermatt) to help you prepare for how these trips differ from North American hut ski trips, and how to use what you already know to enjoy your journey. Expect to hear how the classic routes compare and which might appeal to you. You can do this! Plan now, before winter.
Not a skier? Enjoy Jim's adventure vicariously and enjoy fabulous scenes of the Alps draped in snow.
IMR monthly meetings are a way to hear about topics of interest to Idaho outdoor enthusiasts. Starting in 2017, meetings are held on the 2nd Thursday of the month and are free and open to the public. (Of course, we shamelessly hope you like what you see and will join the club--but we also don’t pressure you!) We provide outing updates, announcements, and have a 45-minute presentation followed by discussion and/or social time so people have a chance to meet one another.
IMR's meetings are held in the Trophy Room at the Idaho Fish and Game Headquarters, 600 South Walnut, Boise, Idaho, from 7-9 pm. Park behind the building (on the east side). The Trophy Room entrance is near the northeast corner of the building. Meetings are from September through May. In June, July, and August we have potluck dinners in city parks.
